A friend of mine sent this short video to me about the Paris Tattoo Art festival. The video itself is really short with no voice over or music. It really just focus on some of the incredible art taking place.
What I found Interesting was the comments that the video sparked. There was one comment that seem to have started a whole wave of responses, "Tattoo's are stupid and for people who have trouble with self identity." There were many who were really disgusted by what this guy said. Though I totally disagree with what this guy said. I believe it is the opposite, you have to really know who you are and have a strong sense of self in order to get a great tattoo that you won't regret later on. It really shows in the art and when someone talks about it if a tattoo was randomly picked.
Another guy said that tattoos "look trashy, sleazy, and show how screwed up the person is." While I admit there are some really bad tattoos out there that probably fall under trashy and sleazy, there are just as many that are artful and well done. It takes a lot of skill to do tattoos and it is really sad to see that some people still don't show any respect for it. However, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just think it's funny how a short 40 second clip of tattoos could fuel people to write such things.
